is at stake. good morning. >>> reporter: good morning. this case has played out for months at city hall and this decision a big deal because it could set the precedent for misconduct cases in the future. sheriff ross mirkarimi pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor relating to a domestic violence dispute that left his wife with a bruised arm on new year's eve. nine months later we could find out if he stays or if he goes for official misconduct. his wife eliana lopez showed her neighbor a bruised arm which you can see in this video after her husband grabbed her during an argument. mirkarimi was sentenced to three years' probation, fined and ordered to undergo counseling. he was also placed on unpaid leave by mayor ed lee. since then, mirkarimi has been fighting for his job. his attorney says that the marital incident has nothing to do with his role has sheriff and he was also voted in. mayor lee wants him out taking steps to permanently remove him saying that mirkarimi's guilty plea makes him unfit to hold office. >> we are making already changes and great changes that were in the queue for re

were not wearing life jackets. >>> demanding justice. protesters taking over the city council meeting in oakland last night demanding more information on a deadly police shooting that happened five months ago. the family and about 75 supporters of 18-year-old alan bluford packed the chambers for two hours. the family was given a copy of the police report. something they have been asking the police for since the shooting happened. bluford was shot and killed back in may after police say he tried to run away. police said he was killed in an exchange of gunfire that injured the police officer. they later changed the story and the gun believed to be bluford's believed to be recovered from the scene was not. the district attorney and oakland police are still investigating the shooting. >>> the protest comes as a federal report comes to light accusing oakland police of being too quick to pull the trigger. a court-appointed monitor says officers sometimes shoot at suspects even though they may not face immediate danger. the monitor says officers may be quote, hypersensitive to the dangers of

on today--hope slogan. that romney says that hope is not a strategy for dealing with the middle east. city hall was one of the buildings vandalize and oakland last night. there were various buildings tax throughout the downtown area happening all around 7:00 p.m. after a protest. people they targeted restaurants cars storefronts and the oakland tribune building. they joined >> they only lasted four innings killing of four rounds. bottom of the fifth four to nothing and the giants get their first hit of the game. they only have to for the night. the crowd finally starts to get into that at this point but the reds just keep rolling. nine nothing to the reds. the reds lead the best of the series to nothing. no national team has ever come back from a two game deficit. the athletics are also in the same hole. top of the third inning coco crisp is tagged out. it's 21 to oakland. they missed the catch with two runs scored. the strike goes up 3 to at that point. the strike goes on to win this game five to four in the bottom of the ninth inning. the athletics return home for hopefully three games w

of the board of supervisors. they will vote on whether he should lose his job. katie marzullo is live at city hall. the charge is official misconduct. >> reporter: that's right that was the finding of the ethics commission. the board of supervisors does have the final word that word should come today, meeting beginning 2:00 this afternoon. superintendent advisers have been going over findings of the ethics commission since september. that is when the commission found mirkarimi guiltive misconduct. after he pleaded guilty to one count of false imprisonment. that was after the new year's eve fight with his wife eliana lopez. at the time, lopez let a neighbor videotape a bruise on her arm but now is saying she stands by her husband and this is all a misunderstanding. mayor lee asked mirkarimi to resign back then he refused and the mayor suspended him that brings us to today. today the ethics commission will give an overview of its findings. then mayor lee and mirkarimi will each have 20 minutes then the mayor gets a five minute rebuttal. finally potentially unlimited public comment but superviso
